31 Days of Halloween: Howl-o-Ween at Centennial Village

On Sunday, we took my nephew to Howl-o-Ween at Centennial Village! Centennial Village is part history museum & part living history experience & at Halloween, they go all out. Decorations, costumes, candy & tons of kids, wandering the property in search of treats & scares! Not knowing how Hugo was going to take to Trick or Treating, my brother & sister in law thought this event would be the perfect time to try Hugo out on that magical experience of actually being allowed to ask strangers for candy!

Though he didn't quite grasp the whole concept of trick-or-treating (I mean, he's only two after all), he loved his costume (Calvin & Hobbes in the time machine) & he especially loved carrying his candy pumpkin! They were even handing out apples at one of the houses, which I think was his favorite of them all! And my favorite part? I really loved that they had a choir from UNC singing spooky songs! It was very quirky & it definitely brought me a ton of joy to see! Check our the videos at the bottom of the post!

I feel very fortunate to be able to spend so much time with Hugo & share these moments with him. I wouldn't trade that for the world! What are your little ones going as this Halloween? Will they be going out trick or treating?
