When I was a kid, there were certain movies, shows & programs we watched every year at Halloween. One of those programs was what I thought was Disney's Halloween Treat. This was when ABC still played the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday Nights. I looked forward to this once a year viewing every Halloween & we eventually taped it so that we could watch it anytime we wanted!
There were, in fact, several other Halloween specials put out by Disney in the 70's & 80's. They do tend to have some overlap in terms of the animations that are showcased, but are of these specials are worth a watch! Did you see any of these when you were a kid? Were they part of your Halloween tradition?
If you want to hear lovely, interesting people talk about these specials in depth & intelligently, check out The Girls in the Back Row's latest episode here! You won't be disappointed!
A Disney Halloween-1983
A Disney Halloween combines Disney's Halloween Treat & Disney's Greatest Villains. This was the version that I grew up with, but some of you may have only seen Disney's Halloween Treat. This recording even includes Michael Eisner's opening! This brings back so many memories! You can watch it here. Enjoy!

DTV Monster Music-1987
This is an interesting special that combines rock music with cartoons from Disney. But this isn't just some sloppy editing job! The songs match up so well with the animation! And you might recognize the mirror on the wall as none other than Jeffrey Jones! You can enjoy this treat here!
Disney's Halloween Hall o' Fame- 1977
Now, I do not remember seeing this special when I was a kid, but you can't beat Jonathan Winters working as a night watchman at Walt Disney Studios, bumbling through the Disney prop closet! Check out a playlist for this program here!
