So, this might come as a shock to you, but your girl loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In fact, it's number one in my top three favorite shows of all time. In 2013, during my first 31 Days of Halloween, I wrote about the BTVS Halloween episodes. I highly recommend all of them if you're looking for something to watch this month.
This year, I thought I would share something I stumbled upon a few days ago. Now, it will come as no surprise to some of you that in 2002, BTVS was green lit to get the cartoon treatment as an animated series, but it never got off the ground. It went un-produced because no one was willing to buy it. The plan for this show was for it to take place during season 1. Many of the actors voiced their characters, but networks thought that it would be too hard to sell a more adult show in a "childlike" format. You can watch the first three minutes of the pilot episode below.
If that wasn't enough animated Buffy for you, I recently found that in 2014, Portland artist Stephen Byrne created a fan made Buffy teaser. He packed a single minute with so many Easter eggs for super fans it'll make your head spin!
It still bums me out that Whedon & other talented writers never got the chance to do things with the animated series that they couldn't do with the live-action series, but such is life. We still get these fun videos to watch! Maybe someday someone will give the Scooby Gang the animated lives they deserve! Until then, I will get my Buffy fix by reading the comics!
