I am so thankful that I found Goodreads. Nothing has helped me read more than this app/website! Here's the skinny: Goodreads allows you to set a challenge for yourself for the year. You decide how many books you want to try to read and then work toward your challenge by adding the books you read to your list. You can also recommend books to friends, review what you read, take quizzes and even win books (I won 3 books this year alone)!
In 2014, I set a goal of 30 books and surpassed my goal reading 34 books. I thought I better up my game, so I set my goal for 50 books. However, I hit my goal in July, so I upped it to 75. I am proud to say that I have completed & surpassed my goal by reading 81 books! I guess I'm going to need a bigger number for 2016!
Some of the highlights are:
2. The Ocean at the End of the Lane- Neil Gaiman
3. Nimona- Noelle Stevenson
4. The Boy on the Porch- Sharon Creech
5. Afterlife with Archie: Volume 1- Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Francesco Francavilla
I encourage you to start your own Goodreads challenge as 2015 starts! Check out one of the books I recommended above if you're looking for something to start the year off with a bang! If you'd like to follow my literary escapades, you can follow my profile here. I plan to set my goal at 100 books in 2016, so we'll see how it goes!
Let's fill the 2016 with novels, comics, biographies & beautiful words!
