3. Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson-
Since I first heard about it, I have always wanted to do Roller Derby. Several years ago, Greeley got our very first roller derby league & I wanted in. I went to the introductory meeting, saw my ex & heard that you needed insurance to participate. I walked out of the meeting before it even finished. I was defeated & I have always sort of kicked myself for not trying harder to make a go of it.
I really wish Victoria Jamieson's graphic novel Roller Girl had been around when I was 13. If you like Roller Derby, strong female role models or well-written children's books, you're going to want to check this one out!
