While looking for a winter lipstick, I discovered these little beauties. The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are a refreshing addition to the balm lipstick trend that began in 2013. Formulated with hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter, these babies give you a sheer to medium color wash without drying out your lips. And if the hydration boost wasn't good enough, these lip butters truly are the lazy girls lipstick. No lip liner is needed, as they don't bleed and you don't need a mirror to apply. How great is that? This product succeeds in making me look WAY more put together than I really am and in a fraction of the time it would take me to put on a 'real' lipstick. I currently own Tutti Frutti (a lovely coral-y orange) and Red Velvet (a rich mauve) and I think more of their 20 shade color range are in my future.

2. Project 387-
During a two week art residency program in Gualala, California, called Project 387, Claudia Biçen created this engaging series. Bicen, a self-taught British artist, currently lives in San Francisco. Allyson Feeney, the founding director of Project 387 said this of Biçen's work: "Biçen constructs her realist studies by focusing on a path to empathy and a personal connection to her subjects. After interviewing six individuals most connected with Project 387’s landscape, Biçen found sites in the woods and created studies in pastels on natural, immovable material. These portraits will remain untreated and vulnerable to the elements—allowing for a delicate process of decay and eventual absorption into the earth". Can you imagine wandering in the woods and finding this? I think it would feel like you had discovered a secret that was put there just for you. I love that their are people that are creating magic like this in the world.
