2. New Year's Short Terms Goals-
"According to statistics published last year by the University of Scranton, about 45 percent of Americans usually make New Year’s resolutions – and the most popular resolution is losing weight. Of those who make resolutions, a mere 8 percent (yes, 8 percent!) achieve them.". [link] That statistic will take the wind right out of your sails!
When I was younger, I would make a list of New Year's resolutions on New Year's Eve and I would promptly forgot about them by February 1st. As I have gotten older, I have realized that I do much better with several lists of short term goals, spread-out throughout the year. If I have a long term goal of getting into shape (which I do), I will set myself a short-term goal of making it to the gym three times a week in January. That is a tunnel I can see the end of and thus, won't get discouraged. If you have had trouble sticking to your New Year's resolutions, I challenge you to try some short-term goal and see if it works for you in 2014
