Looking for a horror movie or two to watch on Halloween night? Here are a few of my favorites, curated for your viewing pleasure. A word to the wise: Most of these films are straight horror. A few are humorous at times, but they've got your gore, strong language and general scary situations. But, in my humble opinion, they are solid films. Give them a try, if you dare!
One of the scariest Disney films ever produced.
2. "Lost Boys"- 1987
If the vampires don't scare you, Sax Man sure as heck will!
3. "1408"- 1987
This film is based on a Stephen King short story that is truly terrifying.
4. "The Frighteners"- 1996
This film, directed by Peter Jackson (before Lord of the Rings fame), wasn't wildly well-received, but it's still one of my favorites around this time of year. Pro-Tip: You can find it on Netflix right now!
5. It- 1990
Most adults my age can thank this little made-for-tv-gem for their un-natural fear of clowns. Well done, Tim Curry. Well done.
There you have it! I could probably go on forever, but this is a good sampling of good quality horror. Have you seen any of these? What are some of your favorite horror movies that I need to know about? Do tell!
