Thrifting Thursday: Sometimes 20 Minutes is Enough

This past Saturday we had a lot of errands to run in a short amount of time. We went from the Farmer's Market, to shooting some pictures for a web project, to meeting a friend back at our house to lend her some canning supplies. Even with all this busyness, we still found time to squeeze in 20 minutes of good, quality thrifting.

As you may already know, I am usually a marathon thrifter. I hit all the local thrift joints at least once a week, sometimes more. And if time allows, I usually pore over every square inch of the store, worrisome that I'll miss the Holy Grail of finds if I don't. But sometimes you just don't have time to wander around Goodwill for an hour. Sometimes you have exactly twenty minutes on your lunch break or before you have to pick your kids up from school.

It's times like that when twenty minutes is totally enough time.

In fact, I have done some of my best thrifting on budgeted time. Being on a strict schedule forces you to reach for the things you know that you love and you will have no regrets about purchasing. On this particular outing, we bought a large rooster lawn statue, an awesome vintage photo of a man winking at the camera in an antique frame with the original bubble glass, a wine rack, miscellaneous frames for Rick's art projects, a sweatshirt and jean skirt. Whew!

This week I challenge you to set a timer for yourself when you hit your local shops. What treasures will you find?

Happy Thrifty Thursday, friends!
