This past weekend was packed with fun and activities! While Friday was Valentine's Day, a few weeks ago my brother came up with the idea to host a party on V-Day revolving around Bezier Games' Ultimate Werewolf Compact Edition card game. Not your normal love celebration!
This party was basically an excuse to play this awesome party game (learn more here), but also because Valentine's Day is kind of a weird holiday. Do you give into the rampant commercialism of the holiday or do do you sit at home on principle either by yourself or with you significant other? Tough questions! Rob's answer was to come up with a horror-story telling party called Werewolf Valentine's Day!

We all gathered, coupled and singles alike, to eat tasty food, medieval style drink (many kinds of ale and mead were consumed) and play the game. It was so much fun and I truly hope Rob and Denise do it again next year! *hint hint*

Saturday began as it so often does with our Saturday art group at a local coffee shop. It was a relaxing time with a group of people that we enjoy the company of and inspire us greatly. Both Rick and I got some good quality art done!
On Sunday I attended a baby shower for a great friend! The church that I attend/work for has adopted a tradition of showering mamas after their babies are born and I have to say, I prefer it this way! Baby showers are so much fun when the baby is actually in attendance!
Later that afternoon we went to our favorite local theater, The Kress Cinema & Lounge, to see a matinee of Gravity. While there, I saw a coming soon poster for my most anticipated film of this year. I really hope the Kress gets it!
I can't wait!! |
Gravity was amazing! The film was beautiful in both cinematography and story-line. Every performance was a stand-out and I would be VERY surprised if Gravity doesn't clean up at the Oscars. I left the theater feeling uplifted, sad and anxious, all at the same time. And Sandra Bullock's Ryan Stone has a little bit of a Ripley (from Alien) thing going on, so you've got to love that! Go see it. I would love to hear what you think!
