Here are my top 5 favorite Halloween kid's books, in no particular order. Number one is actually two books but they're by the same author, so I thought I'd mention them both. Enjoy!!
1. The Bones of Fred McFee & In the Haunted House By Eve Bunting-
I've loved this one, ever since I was a kid. |
I remember buying this one from the Scholastic Book Fair! |
2. Goodnight Goon by Michael Rex-
Written by the same author who did Goodnight Moon. A must for any Halloween library! |
3. There's Something in my Attic written and illustrated by Mercer Mayer-
I love Mercer Mayer (Of Little Critter Fame) and this book. And I just love the "something's" face on the cover. |
4. Boris & Bella Written by Carolyn Crimi & Illustrated by Gris Grimly-
Rick & I read this book in Borders a few years back and LOVED it! We still need to buy our own copy for our collection! |
5. Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Halloween-
If you kiddo is interested in drawing, this is the Halloween book for them! FYI- All of Emberley's work is golden. |
That's my list! I know I've forgotten a few of my favorites, but these are all kid friendly an Kimberly approved. But as I always say, if you're not sure if it's right for your kiddo, please pre-read for content.
I would highly recommend buying any of these books for your personal collection and while you at it, you might just want to buy them from your locally run and operated bookstore! If that isn't an option, I know all of these titles are available for sale on Amazon. What are some of your favorite Halloween kids books? Are there any that I need to know about?
